Anthony Hewitson, who transcribed the diary of Lawrence Rawstorne, published only selected entries and does not specify whether dates not included were omitted by the transcriber or by the diarist himself.  Where the entries do not deal with Preston Hewitson’s editorial notes are generally followed. 5 At Penwortham. ‘Twas the day brother ffleetwood went towards London. Brought him to Chorley, and many others wth me, Prestoners. This day aslo my wife went to Ormischurch to pay Sr Rich Atherton £500 and return’d. I had paid before £400, & before that £400, & still he is £200 short. On ingrateful & Nab all like: had forgot the kindness done to him, and forced mee paye him that I never had. God, thou Knowest it.
