6 At Preston. Went with Mr. Maire to vew the Boundaries; dyned wth him; & went from thence to Will. Adkinson’s, to Mr. Kenion. Was afterwards at Mrs. Jepson’s wth Mr. Mayor, Mr. Hodgkinson, Mr. Lemon, Mr. Cea [?], & Mr. Marsden.

7 Went to Chorley more. Met Cousin ffarrington &’s wife, & went to Wuerden wth theim. Manie gentn., met them, & dyned there.

14 Went to Lancaster, to the Assizes. The Sermon that day preach’d by Mr. Roe, warden of Manchester.

15 At Lancaster. The charge given by the Lord Cheife Justice Jeffreys. Sr Roger Bradshaigh foreman of the Jury 2j, whereof I was one. Dyned with the Sheriff.

16 At Lancaster. Dyned wth Sr Roger at Maidenhead.

17 At Lancaster Church. Heard Mr. Warden. Dyned at my own lodging, Widow Hunter’s. Heard Mr. White afternoon.

18 At Lancaster. Dyned at Mrs. Mayre & Mrs. Hunter’s. Discharg’d i’th’ evening.

19 Came home. Dyned at Garstang.

20 At Preston & town hall. The Mayor surrendered the Charter to the Lord Chief Justice Jeffreys to the King’s pleasure, and has return’d it again.
