Poitevin, Roger the (b.c. 1065, d. before 1140) third surviving son of Earl Roger, first earl of Shrewsbury, and his wife, Mabel. Before 1086 held the lands between the Ribble and the Mersey. By 1086 he had built a castle at Penwortham and installed tenants there. By 1086 his lands had been taken back from him by the king. His lands were restored to him after 1088. ODNB says his holdings are problematic and it does not mention Amounderness, although it notes he founded a priory at Lancaster after 1086.

Preston Robert de (fl. 1185-96), first recorded rector of Preston, from 1185 to 1196. He was presented by Theobald Walter. The advowson was claimed by the Abbey of Sees, but a settlement gave it to Theobold, with the rector to pay 10 marks a year to the Lancaster priory, a daughter house of the abbey.
