Croston, Richard

Richard Croston was appointed headmaster of the grammar school in Preston on 6 December 1680 with a salary of £30 a year. He was ordained the following year but continued as headmaster and, with the permission of the mayor, preached sermons. He was a non-juror after the revolution. [1]
