Tostig, earl of Northumbria (c. 1029–1066), before the Norman Conquest he held the whole of Amounderness, of which Preston was the head. Domesday recorded that in Preston Tostig had held ‘6 carucates rateable to the Geld’.

Tour, Randle de la (fl. c. 1201), presented to the rectorship of Preston by King John 25 February 1200/1. Succeeded a year later by Peter Russinol, and might not have been instituted.
