MBE for Preston historian

David Hindle, the author of ten books on the history and natural history of Preston and district has been made an MBE in the New Year’s honours list.
The award is for his services to Grimsargh where he helped to create Grimsargh Wetlands. David is the president of the Preston Historical Society and is well known for his talks he has given around the area for many years past.

He was awarded an MA by UCLan for his dissertation ‘From a “Gin Palace” to a “King’s Palace?”:the Evolution of the Music Hall in Preston 1840-1914’. It is in the Preston History Library on the Preston History website.
